Knowledge of Raw Materials (5cr)

Objective

The student is able to:
- link the biochemical structure of skin and hair with the effect of a cosmetic product
- describe the basic methods in manufacturing the most common colour cosmetic products
- distinguish the different types of pigment
- obtain, handle and assess information critically
- recognise active raw materials in cosmetic products from different product groups and inform the consumer of how their mechanisms affect skin and hair
- analyse the reliability of the information about a raw material in a cosmetics advertisement
