Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- describe how value is created for the customers through service
- recognize the essence of Service Design thinking and methods
- plan, implement and evaluate a Service Design project using service design methods
- apply creative problem-solving and develop working methods individually and in teams
- foster entrepreneurship through service design
Teaching methods
The course has a theoretical part and a real-life project. The project will be done in cooperation with a real company with a real challenge. The project is done according the Service Design Sprint!, total of 7 days. The outcome of the course will be:

The student needs to attend to first session on 9.11.2018 and in the Service Design Sprint! (7 days) 23.11. - 30.11.2018
Further information for students
For digital service development and cyber security students: The last study unit implementation of study unit R0216 Service Design 10 cr targeted for digital service development and cyber security students is scheduled for spring semester 2026 (please check the study offering for any changes). After that you can complete the study unit R0216 Service Design 10 cr together with business management student or take the study unit ND00CC09 Service Design Process 5 cr offered in the new curriculum. In case you complete study unit ND00CC09 Service Design Process 5 cr, a separate 5 credit project will be agreed so that together you complete 10 credits worth of service design studies. Please consult your tutor teacher.
