The student is able to
- assess and analyze the patient´s needs for care in different perioperative and intraoperative nursing environments
- utilize nursing science and multidisciplinary information on the decision-making process
- plan, implement and evaluate advanced perioperative and intraoperative nursing process

Different fields of perioperative nursing
Preoperative assessment techniques and preparing the patient for the operation - intraoperative nursing process
Postoperative assessment techniques and documentation
Advanced medication and calculations
Cooperation with other professionals

Contact lessons, lectures, workshops and simulation workshops.

The core of this study unit is to implement values, principles and ethical codes as well as patient safety in advanced perioperative nursing. Students are able to recognize needs and areas for development in perioperative nursing. After study unit students are able to work as members of multi-professionalteam during advanced perioperative nursing processes.
