Service Design (10cr)

Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- describe how value is created for the customers through service
- recognize the essence of Service Design thinking and methods
- plan, implement and evaluate a Service Design project using service design methods
- apply creative problem-solving and develop working methods individually and in teams
- foster entrepreneurship through service design

Teaching methods

R0216-3021 on verkkopainotteinen monimuotototeutus, joka koostuu 2 osasta: teoriaosuus 3 op ja projektiosuus 7op.

Teoria-osuus suoritetaan itsenäisesti verkossa ajalla 1.3. - 4.4.2021, ja se tulee olla suoritettuna ennen projektisosuutta.

Projektiosuus suoritetaan verkossa ajalla 8.4.-30.5.2021. Tämä osuus käynnistyy yhteisellä kick-offilla 12.4.2021 ja päättyy palvelukonseptin pitchauksiin 24.5.2021. Itse- ja vertaisarviointi projektityön osuudesta 24-30.5.2021.

Time and location

Teoriaosuus 1.3.- 4.4.2021 on itsenäisesti suoritettava verkkokurssi, joka sisältää palvelumuotoilun prosessin (Double Diamond), työkalut ja menetelmät Canvas-alustalla.

Projektiosuus 8.4.-30.5.2021 on verkkopainotteinen monimuotototeutus, joka sisältää palvelumuotoiluprojektin toteutuksen tiimityönä perustuen aitoon yritystoimeksiantoon. Työskentely tapahtuu Canvas-alustalla, Zoomissa ja hyödyntäen muita yhteiskehittämisen alustoja, esim. Miroa.

Projektin kick-off on 12.4.2021 klo 9-15. Kick-off on pakollinen ja siihen voi osallistua kampuksella ja verkossa.

Alternative completion methods of implementation

Teoria-osuus: vaihtoehtoisia suoritustapoja ei ole tarjolla.

Projektiosuus:
Aiempi osaaminen palvelumuotoilu-projektin toteuttamisesta voidaan hyväksyä vaihtoehtoiseksi suoritustavaksi. Esim. kirjoittamalla 12-15 sivun raportti, joka sisältää projektin toimeksiantajan antaman arvion suorituksesta. Lisätietoja saat ohjaajilta.

Co-operation with working life and/or RDI

Projektiosuus:

Palvelumuotoiluprojektin toteuttaminen Terveyskylän kanssa. Aihe tarkentuu myöhemmin.
5-6 hengen tiimit kehittävät palvelukonsepteja toimeksiantajalle Terveyskylä.

PROJEKTIOSUUS:
Palvelumuotoilun projekti perustuu 4 kehitysvaiheeseen, jotka on aikataulutettu 1-2 viikon jaksoihin.

Projektin kick-off 12.4. klo 9-12 (lähitapaaminen & ZOOM)

Vaihe 1 "Löydä". Tehtävien palautus: 25.4. Ohjaus verkossa: 19.4.2021 klo 9-12
Vaihe 2 "Määritä". Tehtävien palautus: 2.5. Ideointityöpaja verkossa 26.4.2021 klo 9-12
Vaihe 3 "Kehitä". Tehtävien palautus: 16.5. Ideakorttien esittely verkossa 3.5.2021 klo 9-12
Vaihe 4 "Tuota". Tehtävien palautus: 23.5. Prototyyppien esittely 17.5.2021 klo 9-12
Palvelukonseptien loppuesitykset (pitchaukset) toimeksiantajalle 24.5.2021 klo 9-11.30
Itse- ja vertaisarviointi ajalla 24.5.-30.5.2021

7 op verkkoprojekti, joka vaatii 135 tuntia opiskelua / opiskelija. Tiimitehtävä.
Tehtävät on aikataulutettu.

Further information for students

For digital service development and cyber security students: The last study unit implementation of study unit R0216 Service Design 10 cr targeted for digital service development and cyber security students is scheduled for spring semester 2026 (please check the study offering for any changes). After that you can complete the study unit R0216 Service Design 10 cr together with business management student or take the study unit ND00CC09 Service Design Process 5 cr offered in the new curriculum. In case you complete study unit ND00CC09 Service Design Process 5 cr, a separate 5 credit project will be agreed so that together you complete 10 credits worth of service design studies. Please consult your tutor teacher.
