Content scheduling
During this module, you will create a career plan, have more PSP discussions with your personal tutor, and explore another area of personal interest.
The learning outcomes of the 2 credit study unit, Professional Development, are given below. After completing the study unit, the student is able to:
create a personal career plan
look into employment opportunities and prerequisites for entrepreneurship in his/her field
build and utilise professional networks
describe his/her competence, apply for jobs in the field and understand the significance of social media in the job seeking process
anticipate future trends in the job market and their likely impact on his/her career
promote personal well-being
Progressing through this module
The module is divided into three main parts:
1. Career plan. You will draw up a formal outline of your future career direction.
2. Optional theme. You have a choice of topics to explore in more detail, depending on your interests and life circumstances. Choose one of these and carry out the task in that section. If necessary, you will receive support from your tutor in choosing a suitable assignment. You will discuss this with your Personal tutor in the second PSP discussion.
3. PSP discussions. These will be arranged in the autumn and spring semesters.
