Teachin methods

The first part of the course (0.5 credits) consists of the Career Direction task. Additionally, the first part includes two HOPS discussions, for which you need to prepare. Preparation instructions can be found in the section "Preparing for HOPS Discussions" in the Canvas workspace.

The second part of the course (0.5 credits) consists of optional modules. You can choose another task according to your own interests. The themes include, among others, well-being, career aspirations, job search skills and knowledge of the working life, entrepreneurship, and future awareness.

Interactive online implementation:
The course is online implementation. The course includes scheduled teaching or guidance online, which is not recorded. Active participation and commitment to interactive learning are required. Personal feedback will be provided by the teacher on assignments.

Tutkintosäännön (2024) mukaan "opiskelijalla on oikeus hakea osaamisen tunnustamista riippumatta siitä, missä, miten ja milloin osaaminen on hankittu. ... Laureassa osaamisen tunnistamista ja tunnustamista toteutetaan kahden eri menettelyn kautta: a) hyväksiluku (toisen korkeakoulun opinnoissa hankittu osaaminen) ja b) osaamisen näyttö (muulla tavoin hankittu osaaminen). Aloitteen osaamisen tunnistamisesta ja tunnustamisesta tekee opiskelija. Opiskelijan vastuulla on osoittaa ja todentaa osaamisensa." Exam schedules

This course is an important guidance-oriented course, where you will receive instructions and support for your studies from your teacher-tutor as well as from fellow students in your group. Therefore, participating in the course meetings is recommended.

Career Plan, PSP discussion if needed and an assignment of chosen topic. 27 hours of work.

Content scheduling

During this course, you will plan your future career. Additionally, you will select an area of interest to work on and have a Personal Study Plan (HOPS) discussion with your teacher-tutor as needed.
