Medication calculation is part of Module II implementation. A student MUST past medication calculation before going for placement II.
Objective
The student is able to
- calculate medication doses correctly
- apply knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology and the basics of medication treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating treatment for patients with medical and infectious diseases
- describe the main drug classifications, drugs’ active ingredients and medicines used in long-term and acute care and their mechanisms
- implement safe and aseptic medication treatment using different routes of administration
